Casa Bianca Spumante Rosato- 100% Pinot Noir from the Veneto region of Italy. This wine smelled very floral. I usually like Prosecco, and particularly enjoyed the crisp, fresh taste of this wine. This wine also had a bit more carbonation than other Proseccos that I have tasted.
Nykteri Santorini Yannis (2010)- Blend of three regional grapes from the island of Santorini, in the Aegean region. I was excited to taste with wine, because my family has a good family friend that used to live in this region, however the wine was a bit too sweet for my liking. The taste that lingered in my mouth was not what I consider to be pleasant.
Doural Tinto (2009)- This was a red blend wine from Portugal. This wine was a bit drier than anticipated but I thought that it would go well with some Brie cheese. There was a bit of a burning sensation as the wine hit the back of my mouth.
Beauvert Cotes du Rhone (2009)- A blend of Grenache and Syrah grapes from the Rhone region or France. This wine was very smooth. It was not very tannic and left a pleasant feeling in my mouth.
Boas Vinhas Tinto (2009)- A blend of three red grapes from the Dao region of Portugal. This wine smelled like a mixture of vinegar and tobacco smoke. It had a very nice rich, deep red color, however the tobacco taste was a bit outputting. Paulo Laureano Classico Alentejano Tinto (2010)- This blended wine comes from the southern part of Portugal. At first taste, the wine was a bit bitter, causing an unpleasant sensation in my mouth. However, as I progressed through the tasting, the after taste is smoother and not as bitter.
